EPSC Outstanding Poster Contest (OPC)

Posters will be judged based on 1) the relevance of the study, 2) the scientific accuracy, as well as 3) the clarity of presentation. Participation is open to all BSc or MSc students, PhD candidates, as well as scientists that obtained their last degree after 1 January 2024. Participants need to be first and presenting author of the submitted abstract (please note that a shared award with co-authors or team members is not possible) and register either as on-site or virtual participant. Each author can register only ONE abstract for the OPC at EPSC2024.

Both the abstract submission form and the letter of schedule will automatically contain a link to register for the EPSC OPC. The OPC registration is only considered for those abstracts that are selected to be presented as a poster. If the above-mentioned conditions of eligibility are fulfilled, you may sign up for the contest by 15 August 2024.

Please note, that all OPC participants are requested to upload a PDF of their poster by 4 September 2024, 23:59 CEST as "Live Presentation Material" on the EPSC website (only A0 posters are accepted for both in-person and virtual participants). Virtual posters will be printed in A3 and displayed in the poster session halls; on-site person posters will be online accessible on the day of the poster session, therefore the same content as the printed poster needs to be uploaded.

Below the uploaded display material, the OPC evaluation tool will allow all registered EPSC participants to vote on the OPC poster between Monday, 9 September, and Thursday, 13 September 2024. In general, all OPC participants are clearly indicated as such in the online programme after upload of their poster. A short evaluation form is then directly integrated into the online abstract HTML page for easy access.

All registered EPSC participants are eligible as judges as long as they are neither BSc or MSc students or PhD candidates themselves, are not participating in OPC, are not a co-author of the presentation, and do not share the same affiliation as the first author. Ineligible votes will be removed before selecting the OPC awardees.

As prize, each awardee will receive a registration waiver that can be used for the upcoming EPSC-DPS2025.
